Family tree 'Natalie' Malbec 2013
WINEMAKING
The Familytree wines are made exclusively for you, our wine club members and are named after people in our family tree and yours. They are “one off” wines from carefully selected batches of fruit that grew very well in that particular vintage, never to be made again. The red wine this year will be a 2013 Malbec sourced from the Wilyabrup sub region, where we found a few rows of vines that had ripened these Malbec grapes so perfectly. Only available from the winery and stocks are very limited.
TASTING NOTES
Even through it can be challenging to grow; this classic old school variety has never received its due recognition. Our 2013 Malbec has deep and multilayered purple hues. A complex and attractive aroma of dark fruits, spice and smoky cedar. Intense, sweet and generous on the palate with hints of juicy blackberries and rum & raisin chocolate. Robust with immense power and grip, yet retains its finesse with velvety soft tannins.
