Family tree 'Flying Fenton MD' Grenache 2016
WINEMAKING NOTES
Made especially for Familytree Wine Club members, these wines are named after people in our family trees. They are very unique wines made as a “one off” from carefully selected batches of fruit and only made in great vintages. Only available from the winery, these wines will be different from vintage to vintage and stocks are very limited.
The 'Flying Fenton' Grenache is named after Clyde Cornwall Fenton, a very unique member of the Fenton family:
“Clyde Cornwall Fenton M.D. (1901-1982) the first Flying Doctor, though not officially recognised as such due to his disregard for the rules. A true ‘loveable larrikin’ known for his daring rescues, escapades, and occasional pranks. He broke just about every flying regulation known, in spite of this it was said of him that he relieved more suffering and saved more lives than the rest of the NT Health Department combined.”
